Backyard Fruits! Intro to Fruits, Nuts and Berries

Past event
May 21, 2018, 6:30 to 8 PM

Interested in growing more food in your yard? Considering growing fruit, nut trees and berry plants?
Join us at the Bishop Booth Conference Center for a workshop with Nicko Rubin from East Hill Tree Farm & Nursery, and learn all about growing fruit in your back yard. From peach to pawpaw and blueberry to black currant, we will discuss the particulars of plant choices, siting, and establishment for a wide range species. We'll also take a tour of some of the interesting edible plantings at Rock Point. Come with questions; leave ready to plant!

Nicko Rubin owns and operates East Hill Tree Farm, a demonstration farm and nursery selling fruit trees, nuts, and berry plants in Plainfield, VT. He also offers consultation, design and edible landscape planting. He holds a master's degree in landscape design.

With gratitude to the New England Grassroots Environment Fund for supporting our continued offering of these by-donation workshops. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds!
