On Sunday April 29th at 7:30 PM, Chandler presents a staged reading of Maura Campbell's prize-winning play "Cross Talk", directed by Richard Waterhouse. In the play, 19-year-old Grassie is just out of detox and compelled to go to a Narcotics Anonymous meeting, where he meets others like him, trying to get through each day without picking up a drug. Hope and love are manifested in their struggles to stay clean by relying on each other. Of the play, Mr. Waterhouse says, "Maura Campbell's script is funny, touching, and down-to-earth. I'm excited for the opportunity to bring it to life!"

Former Randolph resident Ms. Campbell and Newbury resident Mr. Waterhouse have pulled together nine talented area actors for the reading. Equity actors Oscar Williams, a Charlotte native who originated the role of Christian in the NYC production of Fun Home, and East Montpelier native Liz Gilbert, best known as Scout in Lost Nation Theater's To Kill A Mockingbird, lead the cast. Also in the reading are Lane Gibson (Richmond), Linda Mayer (South Burlington), Dennis McSorley (Burlington), Spencer Morrissey (Morrisville), Tara O'Reilly (Stowe), Maeli Rutherford (Burlington), and Jacob Scheyder (Burlington).
