Island Arts is pleased to collaborate with the Citizens Concert Band, of St. Albans, for an evening of picnicking and music on the lawn of the Grand Isle Lake House on Wednesday, August 14th. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and you are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and your favorite treats to enjoy along with beautiful views of Lake Champlain. The concert will commence at 6:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather the event will be moved to the Grand Isle School.
The band, well know to many in northwestern Vermont, has a history dating back to 1947. The band has a full compliment of brass, percussion, and woodwinds. This is a toe-tapping, hand clapping performance for young and old and, as always, youth under 12 are admitted free.
Tickets can also be purchased at the event for $15 or in advance for $10 at Hackett's Orchard, the Green Frog, and Snow Farm in South Hero, the Back Chamber in North Hero, The Alburgh Public Library, and Isle La Motte Country Store, or at the Flynn Box Office at www.flynntix.org or by calling (802) 863-5966. This performance will benefit the Island Arts youth scholarship fund.
