All are welcome to a workshop on the fundamentals of flatwater kayaking which will be held at the Hunger Mountain Coop. Topics will include: the best places to paddle in northern New England and New York, how to decide which type of boat is best for you, how to properly secure your kayak to your car's roof top, common mistakes to avoid while on the water, pros and cons of various kinds of paddles, spray skirts, and personal flotation devices (PFDs), and much more. The workshop will be offered by Anne Ferguson and Nancy Schulz who have been kayaking for over 20 years. It's free to HMC members and $5.00 for others.
