For Children Ages 8 & Up

Learn how to make Kusudama Flowers at this fun, creative and inspiring workshop. I'm a local artist and love working with children to create beautiful works of art. Kusudama Flowers originate from ancient Japanese culture. Once used to hold incense or potpourri, Kusudama (from the Japanese word kusuri meaning 'medicine' and tama meaning 'ball') Flowers are now used for decoration, and are said to carry good fortune. A form of origami, each flower is hand folded from several pieces of decorative papers.

Kusudama Flowers make great gifts (especially for Mother's Day which is coming quite soon!) Participants will have the opportunity to make several Kusudama Flowers. I will provide a huge selection of beautiful premium papers and all other adornments and materials necessary. We'll work step by step to make the process both fun and memorable. Keep your Kusudama Flowers and leave with step by step photo instructions and some extra materials to continue at home.

Workshop will be held at my home in Charlotte (115 Elcy Lane off of Spear Street near the Mount Philo end). All materials, juice and snacks included. Saturday, April 28 from 10am - noon. $30 per child. Space is limited to 10 children. Sign up by email.

Hope to see you soon!
