Guilford Recreation Club Work Bee, Saturday April 21st beginning at 9am.
There will be a Guilford Recreation Club and Boy Scout work party on April 21st at the Club's Cabin and Pavilion, beginning at 9am. The Recreation Club property is adjacent to the Guilford Fairgrounds off Weatherhead Hollow Road, and includes the ball field, tennis court, cabin, pavilion, and nature trails. The plan is to cut brush around the pavilion and cabin, cut up and split the downed trees along the access road and cabin, remark the Nature Trail and spread bark mulch along it. Weather permitting, we will also have a brush fire to burn the sumac and scrub brush. We'd love to get around the Tennis Court area cleared as well. We will also need some adults for supervision.
If you have High School students who need Service Hours please come join us.
Meet at 9:00 am at the Cabin – located on Fairground Rd in Guilford, next to the Guilford Fair Grounds. Bring tools (marked so we know who owns them). Suggested tools to bring:
chainsaws with supplies and appropriate safety gear
work gloves and work boots
clippers, axes, mattocks or picks, rakes, and wheelbarrows
Leaf blowers and grass-trimmers
Brown Bag it or plan on heading toward Algiers Village for lunch. Drinks provided.
