Volunteers Wanted for Charter House Coalition

Charter House Coalition (CHC) is a volunteer-based non-profit working to eradicate the effects of poverty in Addison County. CHC provides housing and food for low-income and homeless families in Addison County. CHC partners with the community at large, local churches, Human Service agencies, and Middlebury College to provide a warm and welcoming community of caring.

CHC is seeking volunteers to help staff the emergency winter shelter at Charter House which provides housing for families and individuals from November 1 through April 30. There are 5 shifts per day averaging 4 hours per shift. Orientation and training are provided for all volunteers. New volunteers are initially paired with an experienced volunteer. An orientation and training session is being offered at Charter House on February 1 from 10:00 – 11:30am. Reservations are not required.
