"At Least They're Not Using Heroin!"
How delaying the use of other substances is opioid prevention.
In this time of an opioid crisis, it may be considered acceptable to think the use of drugs like alcohol or marijuana among teens is "safer". Come discuss the importance of preventing the early use of all substance and why this matters to the adolescent brain. Also, learn how delaying the use of these substances can help prevent the misuse of opioids or other drugs.
Guest speaker Debby Haskins (former ED of the Assoc. of SAPs of Vermont). Debby has been in the substance abuse field for 25 years. Her passion is working with adolescents and their families to break the cycle of addiction by presenting information in an experiential way.
