Help for Family Caregivers!

Are you caring for a spouse with dementia, an aging parent, or an ill family member? Or are you now raising your grandchildren? Is the stress of caregiving taking its toll on your health or your relationships? Then CVCOA has some "powerful tools" to offer you!

Central Vermont Council on Aging will be presenting its next round of the popular course, "Powerful Tools for Caregivers" at the CVCOA main office, 59 N. Main Street in Barre. The six-session class will be held from 1:30-3:30 p.m. each Thursday, April 19th through May 24th. A $30 donation to CVCOA is suggested but not required to attend the class.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is designed to provide you with the tools you need to take good care of yourself. This program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance busy lives, increase the ability to make tough decisions, and locate helpful resources. Action planning with an emphasis on self-care is an important part of the program. All participants receive a copy of The Caregiver Helpbook, developed specifically for the class.

The class will be co-led by Barb Asen and Kathe McBride. For more information and to register, please contact CVCOA Family Caregiver Support Coordinator, Barb Asen, at basen@cvcoa.org or call 802-476-2681. Class size is limited so we recommend you register now! Thanks.
