Planning Community Meeting Re: Randolph Center Solar

Past event

Sure is a busy week!
A large energy developer called NextEra has purchased the proposed Randolph Center Solar project from Ranger Solar. Many of you attended meetings concerning this 100-acre, 20 MW project proposed for farmland on E. Bethel Road in the past. It is about to be submitted for approval again and will be discussed at this Wednesday night Planning Commission meeting. (I believe this time there are no "sweetener" dollars for the town and the power will be sold out of state).

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Randolph Planning Commission

Pursuant to 30 VSA §248(f), the Randolph Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. at the Randolph Town Hall, 7 Summer Street, Randolph, VT. The purpose of the hearing is to take public comment on a proposal by Randolph Center Solar, LLC (RCS) to build and operate a 20 megawatt solar electric generation facility on East Bethel Road in Randolph Center. RCS is an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC.

This hearing is being held in response to a notice by RCS that it intends to file a petition with the Public Utility Commission (formerly the Public Service Board) to obtain a Certificate of Public Good to build and operate the solar facility.

Representatives from RCS and the Vermont Dept. of Public Service will be in attendance. The public is invited to discuss the proposed project so that comments and recommendations can be made to the Planning Commission, RCS and the State.

If you have any questions, please contact Zoning Administrator Mardee Sanchez at zoning@randolphvt.org or 728-5433 x13.
