"Stories from the Heart," a benefit storytelling show
Award-winning comedic storytellers Kevin Gallagher and Sue Schmidt, founders of "Say it Forward Productions," an organization created to benefit mission-driven nonprofits using the power of live storytelling, have joined forces with HomeShare Vermont for the 2nd annual storytelling fundraising event to take place on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at the Sunset Ballroom atop the Comfort Suites in South Burlington.
This year's show, "Stories from the Heart" follows up on the wildly successful show last year, "There's No Place Like Home." Stories this year will feature new memorable tales, some comic and some touching, about what sharing means especially when it comes from the heart, or at least tries to. Gallagher and Schmidt have entertained sold-out houses throughout New England since 2014. The eclectic duo will be accompanied with live music by "The Brevity Thing," featuring Sue Schmidt on drums, Dave Ball on guitar, Steve Goldman on bass, and Jom Hammack on mandolin. Joining the storytellers will be Kathy Larose.
The show is open to the public and benefits HomeShare Vermont, an organization dedicated to the simple idea that two or more people can share a home for mutual benefit. For over 35 years, HomeShare has tailored these pairings to the unique needs and interests of the people involved.
Doors open at 6:30, show begins at 7:30 p.m. Desserts, coffee and a cash bar will be available. The Sunset Ballroom is located at 1712 Shelburne Road. Tickets are $35 and are available by calling HomeShare Vermont or online at https://homesharevermont.networkforgood.com/events/5595-stories-from-the-heart
