Johnson Green Up activities will be happening on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Town Green on Main Street. The success of Green Up depends on volunteers who pitch-in to make the clean up happen. Community groups, families, businesses, and individuals are encouraged to join the effort.
Green Up bags may be picked up at the Municipal Office Building during business hours starting on April 16th. That's where you can sign up for whatever road or area you would like to green up. There will be a big map to mark everyone's territory so we can try to cover all of Johnson's
roadways and public spaces.
On May 5th Green Up bags and the sign up sheet will be at the Town Green starting at 8 AM.
As in the past, the town road crew will transport the full bags from the Green to the Transfer Station. Also at the Town Green, there will be assistants to help unload the trash from your vehicle to the town truck. There will be music to entertain, food and drink to fuel the volunteers, tickets for great prizes, and appreciation for everyone who helps to spiff-up Johnson. As the date gets closer, there will be more information on Front Porch Forum.
The Conservation Commission is coordinating Green Up this year so if you have questions, want to offer help, or would like more information, contact me or any member of the commission. We hope you will join us in this annual community endeavor.
