The Tropical Fish Club of Burlington is holding its third annual swap meet for tropical fish and plants, coral, and reptile enthusiasts at the Holiday Inn on Saturday, April 14. This regional event draws vendors and visitors from all over Vermont, Upstate NY, and neighboring New England states. Free and family friendly, the swap features locally bred fish, corals and reptiles, do-it-yourself demonstrations, as well as rare and unusual aquarium fish and plants, coral, and equipment for sale.
Award-winning designer, Sam Rutka from Easy Aquariums in Maine, will build a terrarium-aquarium combination, called a paludarium, throughout the day that can house fish, frogs or freshwater shrimp. Local snake breeders will bring a variety of their young snakes and show visitors how to handle and care for them. Morway Geckos will also have a selection of their exotic reptiles available. If you've been wondering how to start a marine aquarium, come talk with Matt from Green Mountain Coral. Local aquarium hobbyists will also offer homegrown fish, shrimp, and plants.
Come meet others who share your interest or learn how to get started in a new hobby. The Fish, Frag and Reptile Swap Meet will be happening on Saturday, April 14, from 11:00 to 3:00 at the Holiday Inn, Williston Road, So. Burlington, VT.
