The April 10 meeting of the St Albans Parkinson's Support Group will be held at Homestead, a Pillsbury senior Community located at 64 Harborview Drive, St Albans. The meeting will be held in the conference room, next to the library on the first floor. Meeting time is set from 10:00 am. There is no charge for this meeting. There is wheel chair accessibility.
Scheduled topic: Arcadia representative coming to discuss Nuplazid, a new drug that can alleviate hallucinations in some folks.
The group is open to those with the disease, their caregivers including family and loved ones as well as those wanting to learn about this disease. The monthly meetings can provide an open forum to share experiences with others who are coping with the illness, gain education and support as well as provide recommendations for dealing with the day-to-day care. Participants can learn from each other, meet new people, have discussions, and listen to presentations.
