Legislators to spea Candle Light Vigil UPDATE
We will meet at Pliny Park at 7 and hear from legislators Mollie Burke, Jeanette White, Mike Mrowicki, Tristan Toleno, Emily Long, and Becca Balint. who will speak up for democracy and equal civil rights for all people. We will light our candles at 7;25 for a 15 to 30 minute silent vigil for Democracy. Please collect your thoughts and prepare some words to share. We will have a bullhorn. We will conclude with songs for the peaceful revolution form Tina Olsen, Robert Wyckoff. Daniel Sicken and George Carvill. Bring a song to share, a story, a poem. End at 9, or earlier, depending.
These are extraordinary times.The Dark Force (the 1%) Is trying to put out the light of Democracy and Civil Rights (the 99%). Let's take this opportunity to stand up for Democracy on Main Street. People around the world cherish the promise of Democracy. Ans so do we. Come out and show up! Show your concern for the State of Our Democracy, and for Democracy around the world Please do not block the sidewalk or the street. At all our events we say: All people who attend this event agree to be nonviolent in word and in deed.
