Addison County Solid Waste Management District (ACSWMD) is hosting a free backyard composting workshop at the Ilsley Library on Wednesday, April 11th from 5-6 pm. Join us to learn more about the wonderful world of compost and how to manage your food waste at home!

The workshop will cover the benefits of composting, why food scraps should be diverted from the landfill, how to set up and manage a pile, uses for compost, and troubleshooting tips. We'll share resources and setup a compost bin, solar digestor and worm bin for you to explore. We'll help you get ready for spring and Act 148, Vermont's Universal Recycling Law, which bans food scraps from the landfill in July 2020.
