The Calais Elementary PTNO's next meeting will be Monday, April 9th, 6 to 7 pm in the Library. We are hosting our artist in residence, Judy Dow for a dessert reception to begin the meeting. We will hear her plans for next week's Native American Culture residency. Judy Dow is a former teacher from Essex, VT having taught grades Kindergarten to 2nd grade for 15 years. She is a trained curriculum-integrated teaching artist. Her artistry is multi-faceted, including basket weaving, beading, storytelling and Native American history. Judy has stories about Native Americans in Calais from both primary and secondary sources. Our students will have the opportunity to learn not just about another culture but some local history as well. During the residency, Judy will work with each grade level on grade specific projects.

Our agenda also includes the Treasurer's Report and Financial Updates, planning the Pancake Breakfast set for April 28th, Cougar Wear Update and nominations for officers for 2018-2019. As always, children are welcome but asked to stay in the Library with their parent/guardian.
