The General, Housing and Military Affairs committee of the Vermont House of Representatives will be hosting public testimony on Thursday, April 5, at 5:30 PM at the State House on Raising the Minimum Wage. If you are interested in sharing your thoughts, please contact us via the email below, and come in at 5:00 PM to sign in. The current proposal raises the wage incrementally until it reaches $15/hour in 2024. Raising the wage to this level will create some complexities with businesses and with benefits that are offered to low wage-earners in VT, and we are trying to smooth those impacts. The committee is studying the Senate bill that passed earlier this session, S.40, and will be taking testimony through the week and into next.
