Free Seeds and Free Advice
Saturday, April 7, 2018, 10:00 – 12:00
Are you planning a garden this year? Do you wish you knew more about what plants work the best? About how to start seeds? Then plan to come to the launch of the 2018 gardening season by the Community Seed Exchange at the Burke Mountain Club, Saturday. April 7th, from 10-12. Members of the Community Seed Exchange will welcome your questions, provide lots of free information, and, best of all, a variety of seeds for you to try in your garden. There will also be demonstrations of apple grafting, making BioChar and tool sharpening, as well as refreshments and a raffle.
The Community Seed Exchange is a free and public program of the Barton Public Library that is open to anyone. We are thrilled to be able to share this project with the Burke Mountain Club. The mission of the Community Seed Exchange is to support local gardeners and homesteaders by providing a free source of organic and open-pollinated seeds as well as lots of resources about gardening and related topics. You can learn all about how you can be part of the Community Seed Exchange on Saturday, April 7 and the other days when either the Barton Library or the East Burke Community Library is open. You can also email us at nekseeds@gmail.com or visit our Facebook page.
The Burke Mountain Club/East Burke Community Library is located at 368 Vermont Route 114, in the center of East Burke and is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM to noon.
