The program ""Votes for Women" will be presented on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 7p.m. at the Platt Memorial Library in Shoreham. The Ticonderoga Historical Society Program Manager and former Essex County(NY) Historian Diane O'Connor will present the talk, which includes audio-visual materials. "Votes for Women" looks at the long fight for women's suffrage in New York State, where women won the right to vote in 1917, more than two years before the national amendment to the constitution was ratified.
