MOXIE Productions is proud to present HEDY! The Life & Inventions of Hedy Lamarr, on Saturday, April 7 at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 8 at 2pm, at the Grange Hall Cultural Center, 317 Howard Avenue, in Waterbury Center, VT, closing its 2018 One & Only Series, celebrating the power of solo performance. This award winning work from artist, Heather Massie, was written in the Grange Hall Cultural Center's Artist-In-Residence program and has toured the world, telling the story of Hedy Lamarr, the compelling bombshell from Hollywood and inventor of groundbreaking digital technology.
Hedy Lamarr, glamorous siren of the silver screen, was more than "the most beautiful woman in the world". She invented frequency hopping and spread spectrum, a technology that has made the world of wireless communication tick. From Austria to Hollywood, WWII, torpedoes, "Ecstasy", and intrigue to the very cell phone in your pocket, she was there!
Ms. Massie has earned Best Actress, Audience Choice, and Outstanding Performance Awards in festivals around the United States, Ireland, South Africa, granted a US Embassy Award from Zimbabwe, and sold out shows all along the way.
