The Burlington-based Peace and Justice Center is bringing its specially-designed "Mindfulness for Activists" two-part training to Montpelier on March 28th and April 4th at the Unitarian Church. Mindfulness emphasizes making connections within ourselves and offers possible ways to act on a sense of common humanity which lies deeper than conflict. Mindfulness is an essential tool for those who participate in social justice work to master. This program focuses on developing self-awareness and self-facilitation skills, understanding the relationship between activist work and self-care, learning to infuse mindfulness into everyday life, and introducing non-judgement as a tool of mindfulness. Led by Ginny Sassaman.
The fee is $50 for the general public, $30 for PJC members, free for anyone under 25. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
