Dutch Hill Tours & Bonfire, Sat, Mar 31, Readsboro

On Saturday afternoon, March 31, DHASH will be celebrating the fantastic first season of skiing returning to Dutch Hill, the abandoned ski area in Readsboro, VT that is now part of the Green Mountain National Forest.Meet at 2:00 in the parking lot to join guided tours of the slopes and trails that have been opened to non-motorized recreation, thanks to DHASH volunteers working closely with Forest Service management.There will be tours for backcountry skiers with skins, intermediate XC skiers, and snowshoers.Or just come enjoy the sledding hill - no tour guide needed there!We've got permission to have a bonfire at the bottom of the sledding hill, which will kick off at 4:00.We'll also fire up a grill or two in the parking lot.Where is Dutch Hill? On combined Routes 8 & 100, just south of the village of Heartwellville in Readsboro, VT.Check our website before coming out: dhash4vt.org.The snow may be gone down in the valleys, but it lingers long up at Dutch Hill, and if we have snow, the celebration is on.
