Library Talk: "Presidents Appointing Judges"

Past event
Mar 28, 2018, 7 to 8:30 PM

Ilsley Library's March 7th Vermont Humanities Council talk has been rescheduled to Wednesday March 28th at 7 p.m.

Our speaker is UVM professor Lisa Holmes. As Holmes explains in this talk, presidents have long used judicial appointments to tilt the judiciary in one direction or another. But it less common historically for presidents to gain great political benefit from appointing judges for ideological reasons. Location: Ilsley Library Community Meeting Room.
