Please come! SoBu residents are invited to attend the South Burlington Land Trust's (SBLT) annual meeting, Sunday, March 25, 5 to 7 p.m., at the Ridgewood Club House. The meeting includes introductions to SBLT board members; a potluck dinner (we encourage bringing a dish to share); Board President Sarah Dopp's briefing on SBLT activities over the past year; and remarks by guest speaker, Dr. Bill Keeton, UVM Professor of Forest Ecology and Forestry, Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources. He will give a natural history talk discussing the importance of South Burlington's forests and tree canopy. Directions: heading West on Swift Street (coming from Dorset Street), take second right into Ridgewood, then keep left. Clubhouse is on the left as you round the first corner.
Why come? It's an opportunity to meet and connect with people passionate about land conservation and concerned about the protection of open space in the city of South Burlington; and share your concerns and priorities surrounding the preservation of clean waterways, healthy forests, working farmlands and wildlife habitat. Discover what the SBLT is working towards and how you can support the cause--as a member, a volunteer, or an advocate for South Burlington's open spaces. All are welcome.
