Winning New Play at Chandler

Past event
Mar 25, 2018, 7 to 9 PM

You won't want to miss a staged reading of another winner in Chandler's Vermont Issues Play contest: "I Belong Somewhere", by East Montpelier resident Margot Lasher, directed by Roxbury resident Jeanne Beckwith. The five-person cast includes Bob Carmody of Charlotte, Paul Cavaliere of Montpelier, Andra Kisler of Northfield, Sarah McDougal of Waitsfield, and Christine Williamson of Enfield (NH). Brett Cox, also of Roxbury, will be giving the stage directions.

Synopsis: A small group of homeless people and animals gather in a vacant lot. They have all been affected by war, and they are protective of each other. Death is always close to their lives, and they struggle to understand what is happening and to stay together.

The reading will be followed by a talkback, giving audience members a chance to make suggestions/comments to and ask questions of Ms. Lasher, who will be attending. A complimentary reception will feature homemade treats.

Tickets will be available at the door: $10 for adults, $5 for students.
