Hello everyone,
I want to let you all know about an upcoming event at Mount Mansfield Union High School. On Thursday, March 22nd there will be a screening of the film "Agents of Change". This film takes the audience through accounts of students at the forefront of protests in the 1960's for the creation of Black and Ethnic Studies Programs, Agents of Change examines the untold story of the racial conditions on campuses and in the country that led to these protests. The film connects this history to today's student-led movement. It will include a short facilitated discussion following the film. This is a free event thanks to a grant from the Ben and Jerry's Foundation. My daughter Willoughby Carlo is working in collaboration with the Peace and Justice Center and the MMU After Dark program. This event is free, although to sign up on the MMU After Dark website it will charge $1 which can be reimbursed at the event. This event is part of an ongoing series on racial justice. The final event in the series is a workshop titled, "Nonviolent Engagement in Conflict" and will be hosted at MMU on Tuesday, April 10th. If you would like to come to the upcoming screening on the 22nd with some background, a great film to watch beforehand is "13th" which can be found on Netflix, although this is not mandatory. This screening will be held from 6-7:30 pm on March 22nd in the MMU library. We hope to see you there! If you have any questions feel free to contact Willoughby at willoughby.carlo@cesuvt.org.
