The Friends of Chelsea Public Library and Mascoma Bank are sponsoring a chili cook-off on Saturday, April 7, from 4-7 pm in the Chelsea Town Hall. Adults will be given chili samples and three tickets to vote on their favorite chili entries. The first, second, and third place winner will receive a cash prize. Children will be given a children's ticket to vote, and the winner of their vote will receive a special prize made by the participants of Story Hour at Chelsea Public Library. Tickets are available now at the library; $10 for adults and $5 for children. There will be door prizes, live music, sides, desserts, lemonade, and iced tea. Brocklebank will also be selling pints of their local brew.

We are also looking for chili entries! Whether you are a chili aficionado or a first-timer, you can enter the Chelsea Chili Challenge for a chance to win a cash prize! There is no charge to enter. Please fill out a Chili Entry form (available at the library or for download on the website) and turn it in to the library no later than March 31st. Contestants must have a minimum of four quarts of their chili (one crock-pot) and their own ladle. Please be at the Town Hall by 4:00 pm and contestants must be present during judging to be eligible to win. The winners will be announced at 6:30 pm. Prizes will be handed out at that time. Businesses are also encouraged to enter.

Proceeds from this event benefit Chelsea Public Library. Please contact the library with any questions.
