Vernal Pools and the Critters That Use Them

Past event
Mar 22, 2018, 7 to 8:30 PM

Vernal pools are small woodland pools that usually dry up by fall. They are the preferred breeding locations for Wood Frogs, Spotted Salamanders, and other amphibians. Salisbury herpetologist Jim Andrews will give a PowerPoint presentation about these temporary ponds this Thursday evening at the Salisbury Elementary School on Kelly Cross Road.

The Salisbury Conservation Commission would like to locate and map the vernal pools in their community. In addition to sponsoring this PowerPoint presentation on March 22nd, they are scheduling a separate field trip on April 21st. Both events are free and open to the public.
