Vernal Pools and the Critters That Use Them

Past event
Mar 22, 2018, 7 to 8:30 PM

Salisbury herpetologist Jim Andrews will give a PowerPoint presentation on Thursday, March 22 from 7 PM-8:30 at the Salisbury Elementary School on Kelly Cross Road.

Vernal pools are small woodland pools that usually dry up by fall. They are the preferred breeding locations for Wood Frogs, Spotted Salamanders, and other amphibians. The Salisbury Conservation Commission would like to locate and map the vernal pools in their community. In preparation for that, they have scheduled two events, this PowerPoint presentation and a separate field trip on April 21. Both events are free and open to the public.
