Documentary "Happy" to Be Shown Wednesday

The Craftsbury Energy Committee is "happy" to announce its screening of "HAPPY", an "immensely uplifting" 2011 feature documentary film by Academy Award nominated director RokoBelic. It explores human happiness through hundreds of interviews with leading happiness researchers and people from all walks of life in 14 different countries, from a Cajun fisherman in the swamps of Louisiana to a rickshaw driver in the slums of Kolkata, a family living in a cohousing community in Denmark, a woman who was run over by a truck, the Dalai Lama, and more, in search of what really makes people happy.

Date: Wednesday, March 21, at 7PM
Place: the Craftsbury Public Library.

Interesting related note: the 2017 World Happiness Report survey which ranked 155 countries by their level of happiness, taking into account six key indicators: generosity, freedom, health, trustworthy governance, income and social support, ranked the United States as No. 14 behind Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, Finland, The Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Sweden, Israel, Costa Rica, and Austria.
