251 Vermont Towns and Cities

David "Devo" DeVarney, a former Winooski resident and 1973 WHS graduate, recently completed a contiguous run through all 251 Vermont towns and cities.

DeVarney ran over 1600 miles in 172 days and became the first person to complete the Vermont 251 challenge through running. His presentation recaps the planning he performed which can apply to anyone trying to visit all of Vermont's towns and cities. During his journey, he also had the unique opportunity to compare the differences in Vermont communities and reflect on the factors that distinguish one community from others. It also provided him a chance to see what is not working throughout the state and what our towns could be doing to improve.
