Ethiopian Dinner at Cork Waterbury

On Wednesday, March 28, Cork Wine Bar & Market of Waterbury (40 Foundry Street) is hosting an evening of authentic Ethiopian cuisine prepared by Alganesh Michael. Alganesh is from Eritrea, a small country next to Ethiopia. This very special dinner is by reservation only. Three seatings: 5pm, 6:45pm, and 8:30pm. $25 per person (does not include alcohol, gratuity, or tax). Please CALL Cork Waterbury at (802) 882-8227 to make your reservation! Offerings will include:

1. Yebeg Alicha ( mild lamb with curry) - lamb slowly cooked with onion, garlic, ginger, tomatoes and curry seasonings and seasoned butter.
2. Yemesser Alicha ( split orange lentil) - cooked with onion, tomatoes, garlic, ginger and jalapeño. These fragrant, flavorful lentil cook quickly & taste wonderful fresh and even better a day later.
3. Gomen ( collard green or kale ) - greens slow cooked with red onion, tomato, celery, garlic, ginger and jalapeño.
4. Yemesser Wet ( spicy whole lentil) - cooked with spicy berbere. Berbere is a spice mixed of dried red hot pepper, shallots, cumin, coriander and lots of Ethiopian seasonings.
*All sauces are served along with injera, a spongy crepe-like sourdough bread that serves as an edible utensil.
*Rice will be served as well for those who are gluten sensitive.
*Vegetarian meals can be requested
