MIDDLEBURY GARDEN CLUB LECTURE: Reinventing the English Cottage Garden Design, by Charlie Nardozzi

At 1pm on Tuesday, March 20, well-known gardening expert and author, Charlie Nardozzi, will give a lecture at Middlebury Congregational Church on how to adapt the classic cottage garden to our Vermont backyard with a fresh approach. Learn how to grow low maintenance, native trees and shrubs to provide the "bones" of your garden. Then select perennial and annual flowers that will fill-in to give your garden that cottage garden feel, while also creating a haven for pollinators and beneficially insects. Charlie also will show how edible shrubs and vegetables can be blended in seamlessly to the garden and talk about some basic garden maintenance tasks such as pruning, fertilizing and dividing. This lecture qualifies for master gardener education credits. This presentation is dedicated to the memory of Sue Saul, avid gardener and three-time MGC president. The lecture is in the Community Room of the Congregational Church at 27 North Pleasant Street in Middlebury. Middlebury Garden Club Lecture and Tour: "Bee the Change Initiative"
