Barre City Elementary & Middle School Parent Teacher Organization, Inc. was incorporated as a non-profit corporation in the State of Vermont on May 2, 2017.

Mission: This is a volunteer led organization. The purpose of the BCEMS PTO is to enhance and support the educational experience at BCEMS, to develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parental involvement, and to improve the environment at BCEMS through volunteer and financial support.

Membership: is automatically granted to any parent, guardian or other adult standing in loco parentis for a student at the school. The principal and any teacher or other staff employed at the school may be a member and have voting rights. Previous participating members of PTO who no longer have children in the school, may be Ex Officio members. There are no membership dues. Members have voting privileges, one vote per household.

Meetings: 6:30 pm on the First Tuesday of each month in School's library unless otherwise noted. March is the 2nd Tuesday of the month due to Town Meeting.

Walk Run Fun! is a fall fundraising and fitness event. Walk Run Fun! gives the students an opportunity to take part in a school wide fundraiser and get fit while doing it! Your support and generosity helps to support our classrooms and school, as a whole. This event will help minimize other fundraising efforts and help unify the school toward a common goal of fitness. This is a volunteer organized and run event by the BCEMS Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). In 2017 we raised just shy of $30,000.
