Last Monday, Maple Wind farm of Huntington, lost their barn, much of their infrastructure and all of their storage vegetables in a devastating fire in Richmond: http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/article/20140113/NEWS02/301130012/Fire-leaves-iconic-Rich[...]oss
Next Tuesday, Jan 28, from 5-9 PM, Hinesburg farmers Rachel Nevitt and David Zuckerman of Full Moon Farm will join forces with Hinesburg's Public House to raise funds to help them rebuild. Full Moon Farm is donating organic pork and vegetables, the Public House is donating their building and staff. Chef Shawn Beede and staff will prepare a 3-course meal, while Ben and Jerry's is donating ice cream for dessert.
We want this to be a party in celebration of all that Bruce Hennessey and Beth Whiting of Maple Wind have done and would like to still do for the local food community.
Local music legends, Will Patton, Jim Stout and Clyde Stats, (mandolin, acoustic guitar and string bass respectively,) will start the evening off with some swing tunes. After their set, Pete's Posse, (Pete Sutherland, Oliver Scanlon and Tristan Henderson,) will continue to keep things lively with their repertoire of dance tunes.
100% of the food income will go to Bruce and Beth's fund to rebuild. Suggested minimum donation for dinner is $25, but more will gladly be welcomed! Walk-ins are welcome but if you would like to reserve a seat at the table, please contact www.hinesburghpublichouse.com or call them at 482-5500.
