Love to dance? Been missing your moving meditation?

Ben and Leslie - new to Brookline, have started Brattleboro Conscious Dance. It's on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, starting April 22, 2018. Read on to learn more or visit the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/brattleboroconsciousdance

Brattleboro Conscious Dance is a talk-free dance inspired by ecstatic dance and 5 Rhythms. It is a practice, intended to enjoy and explore embodiment, physical expression, and your body’s wisdom.

After an unguided warm-up period, the facilitator leads a brief opening circle on a theme or guided practice, followed by a carefully selected playlist of music—beginning spacious and mellow, gaining intensity, and arriving back into stillness.
We close with a sharing circle in which you are welcome to speak about your experience in the dance. This time is meant to be reflective, sharing awarenesses and emotions that arise in the dance, and only includes a very brief inclusion of community announcements.

This community is offered primarily for adults. Children are welcome with adult accompaniment provided they can follow the talk-free and intentional structure and be mindful of their impact on others in the space.

We imagine Brattleboro Conscious Dance to be a dynamic space that offers not just dance, but opportunities to include live music, singing and vocalizing, meditation, guided movement, visualizations, sound bath, and the many other offerings that will arise within the community.

We look forward to creating and enjoying a vibrant and worshipful community of people committed to dance as a practice. Dance is a chance to be grateful for the bodies we live in and to practice releasing judgment of self and others as we move alone and with one another.
