Jan 25, 2014, 7:30 PM

Former Shrewsbury resident Brendan Taaffe brings Bright Wings Chorus back to our area. Anyone who caught their concert at the meeting house last year knows they are excellent. I can give a ride for 2-3 people. If you are interested in getting a ride let me know.

All shows: $12/$10 students and seniors
The Bright Wings Chorus is a group of powerful singers who perform traditional and original American harmony. Soulful, rhythmic and soaring, the Bright Wings repertoire includes shape-note hymns, Appalachian ballads, and gospel quartets. Shaped by years of touring with Northern Harmony and other prominent choral ensembles, a Bright Wings Chorus concert is a moving experience.
In the fall of 2012, the group recorded their second album, Signs and Wonders, and will be performing a selection of songs from that and from their first album, Here Below. Of that first album, featured in The Utne Reader, one reviewer: "If you are moved by the sacred, if you need music that takes hold of your bones and won't let go, you should own a copy of Here Below. It's simply the most powerful stuff I've heard in a long time and I don't know what to do with it except tell you over and over that you must have it."
The Bright Wings Chorus is Wheaton Squier, Brendan Taaffe, Michael Cicone, Ian McGullam, Rachel Gordon, Addie Rose Holland, Mia Bertelli, Kimaya Diggs, Julia Mara Wayne, Katie Trautz, and Emily Thompson.
