Today an inspiring group of Central Asian artists and musicians from the Qyrq Qyz project arrive in Stowe for a three day residency. The residency is part of their world premier tour of the Northeast and Stowe is their only Vermont stop! Qyrq Qyz is an ancient epic of Central Asian women warriors told through live music, poetry and contemporary film.

Tonight at 6pm the Helen Day Art Center is hosting a panel discussion in honor of International Women's Day. The panel includes Uzbek film director Saodat Ismailova, Kazakh musician Raushan Orazbaeva, and Dartmouth music professor Theodore Levin. They will be discussing Central Asian Women in the Arts, featuring excerpts from Saodat's feature film, "40 Days of Silence." The panel discussion is free and open to the public. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments provided. For more information call 802-253-8358
