VERMONT PHILHARMONIC FAMILY CONCERT – MARCH 11, 2018

The Vermont Philharmonic (Lou Kosma, conductor) and the Green Mountain Youth Symphony (Bob Blais, conductor) will present the annual Family Concert “The Magic of Stories” on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 2 PM at the Barre Opera House. The program includes selections from 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, the Pied Piper of Hamelin, The Wizard of Oz, the Lord of the Rings and The Snow Queen (aka Frozen). The GMYS will perform a suite from Hamilton. As a special feature the program will include Traffic Lights, composed by Montpelier High School junior Grace Carlomagno.

The concert concludes with both orchestras combining to perform the finale from Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, complete with audience-provided “cannon” fire.
Tickets are $20 adults, $15 seniors, $5 students and are available on line at www.vermontphilharmonic.com or at the door.
