Please come to HES Tuesday to vote on the Hardwick Elementary School budget. The School Board will be presenting information about the budget to the community Monday evening at 7pm in the school library. Our Annual Meeting will be in the gym at 9am, just before Town Meeting.

The Hardwick Town School Board has worked closely with administration to create a budget for 2018-19 that meets the needs of our students while maintaining a reasonable tax rate. We were faced with a 9.4¢ increase on the tax rate imposed by the state, which we lowered by over 2¢. We were also faced with a significant loss of federal grant money, much of which had to be made up out of our local budget. We cut one teaching position over the current year as well as an additional $249,000 from the original proposed budget.

The School Board and administrators feel strongly that this budget presents the best possible compromise between maintaining essential programming for our children and keeping the tax rate as low as possible.

Please vote on March 6 at the Hardwick Elementary School gym. You can register to vote at the polls with a drivers license.
