Ferrisburgh Historical Society - March Program

Past event
Mar 11, 2018, 2 to 4:30 PM

Location: Ferrisburgh Town Offices and Community Center, aka The Grange Hall.
Topic: "The Deglacial History of the Champlain Valley- Setting the Stage for Human Occupation".
Dr. Will Amidon, Associate Professor of Geology at Middlebury College, and a Charlotte native, will speak on this chapter of our local geology. Lake Vermont, the Champlain Sea, and a whale in Charlotte(?)... these are all likely elements of the program. As the glaciers receded north, the earth left behind was forever changed. "Surficial Geology is the story of deglacialation". Our soils, our landscape, and the life these support, are just part of the story. Learn more. Join us.
All are welcome, fully accessible, light refreshments. For more info, call Silas, 425-3380.
