The film Gasland Part II will be screened at the Greenwich Library at 148 Main Street at 6:30 PM on Thursday, January 23 (January 30 snow date). This new feature-length documentary, an explosive sequel to Fox's 2010 Academy Award-nominated Gasland, destroys the myth that fracking natural gas is an environmentally and socially beneficial alternative to oil and coal. The LA Times praised the film as "haunting and provocative." Check out the film's trailer online.
This event is free and open to all. Doors open at 6 PM for an informal reception with healthy refreshments. A community discussion with climate change activist Bart Schoenfeld, MD, a board certified internist and cardiologist from Chatham, NY, follows the film.
The event is co-sponsored by the Easton Friends Meeting. In case of inclement weather, call the library at 518/692-7157 on the afternoon of the event to find out if it's open. Call me at 692-8242 or email if you have questions.
