Saturday, January 25th is the date for the Mid-Winter Evening Concert of Pan-Celtic Music and Dance. The location is Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 273 VT Route 15. The concert begins at 7:00PM.
Local musicians bring a live performance based on Irish and Scottish music traditions, as well as tunes from Quebec and Appalachia. The Highland Dancers will be showing off their high-stepping dance routines. The featured musicians are: Iain MacHarg, John Guay, Vonnie Estes, Nancy Bakemeier and Joanne & Terry Ranney. You may have met them last year, a professional group who know how to entertain with their bagpipes, celtic whistles, drums, fiddle and hammered dulcimer.
Tickets cost $10 for individuals, $8 for students 13-18, and children 12 and under may attend free. Scones, biscuits and cider are served post concert with donations welcome.
This is a lively family event and a good introductory concert for children, ages seven and older. Youngsters are welcome to sit up front where they can watch the musicians and talk to them afterwards. There is parking on site with handicap accessibility.
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is located on Route 15 across from Clark’s Truck Center and near the junction with Brown’s Trace road. Questions or more information at 802-878-3840 or ggildeme@gmail.com
