Town Meeting: Union Hall March 6

TOWN MEETING DAY
Town Meeting is coming up Tuesday, March 6 at 9 am in the Union Hall, Newfane. The warning is in the Town Report, which was mailed last week. The Town Report also includes details about the budget, as well as reports from town departments and from the civic organizations requesting town support.

VOTING
Voting for town officers is by Australian ballot and early voting is now in progress during regular hours at the Town Offices through March 5 and at the Union Hall on March 6 from 9 am until 7 pm.

Voting on all other warned articles takes place in person at Town Meeting.

Town Meeting is your chance to hear and participate in debate how the Town of Newfane will operate for the ensuing year. Anyone registered to vote in the Town of Newfane can participate, even if you’ve never attended Town Meeting before.

REFRESHMENTS
The NewBrook Elementary Schools Sixth Grade will be selling beverages and baked goods as well as hot soup to go, so voters can go home with a hot lunch. Proceeds from the food sale supports the sixth grade’s trip to Montreal.

ELECTED OFFICIALS
Emily Long, our representative to the state legislature, will visit our meeting to talk about the work she’s doing there and to answer questions.
