Beyond Black History Month

Past event

ALL ARE WELCOME! Continuing in the spirit of inclusive curriculum, and recognizing that Black History does not end when March begins, an inclusive Burlington School District-wide, community event will take place at the Burlington High School on March 9, 2018 at 6 PM to continue – not conclude – the community’s momentum in expanding dialogues, shifting perspectives, and boldly addressing present-day injustices.

Join our students and staff for an evening of conversation, education, and reflection. Featuring exhibitions and presentations from students from around the district reflecting on Black History Month and what they learned in school. We'll also have music from a Sustainability Academy, CP Smith, and Integrated Arts Academy combined choir, a conversation led by the Social Justice Union, an interactive circle discussion on racial issues in our school, and the dance team at BHS, and information tables from a variety of our community partners.

Childcare and refreshments will be provided. If you need childcare, please call Karsen Woods at BSD Central Offices: (802) 864-8474.
