Norwich University’s Peace and War Center presents "The Traditional Citizen Soldier: The Oromo Gadaa System in Ethiopia," a presentation by prominent Oromo novelist, scholar and filmmaker Teferi Niggusie Tafa on Thursday, Feb. 22, from 4-5 p.m. in the Kreitzberg Library South Instruction Room.

This event is free and open to the public.Tafa is a visiting scholar at Norwich University. In addition to publishing the first (and so far only) scholarly analysis of Oromo-language novels, he has also published several of his own novels in the Oromo language, including the award-winning “Jaalala Dhuga,” by Macmillan Publishers in London and “Qondalticha,” a satirical film. His research interests ranges from nationalism, literature, and film studies.
