Concerts at the Schoolhouse, presents...
Sara Grey and Kieron Means
Sunday, March 4th at 4pm
At the Schoolhouse
1643 Rte. 215 S.
Lower Cabot, VT
Sara Grey is a singer of great strength with a fine understanding of the importance of understatement in the art of ballad singing. Accompanying herself on the five-string banjo, it is obvious why Sara is regarded as one of the foremost exponents of the old-time style. Kieron Means brings his masterful, blues-inflected accompaniment on guitar, and a hauntingly soulful voice.
"Sara Grey and Kieron Means play American music, as distinct from Americana - theirs is the real deal. Old-time ballads, cowboy songs and Primitive Methodist hymns are all grist to their individual mill. Sara's unique frailing banjo style and Kieron's blues-inflected guitar are in perfect harmony and this instinctive family symbiosis is what sets them apart. Passionate and heartfelt vocals are the icing on the cake…" - Clive Pownseby, Bothy Folk Club, Southport UK
