Vermont can grow jobs, protect Vermont families and businesses from the volatility of dirty and imported fossil fuels, reduce energy costs and do our part to act on climate.
Next Wednesday, February 21st, from 6:30pm - 8:00pm in Bradford at the Bradford Academy Auditorium, Rep. Sarah Copeland Hanzas will host a short presentation and Q&A on this topic.
Contributors to the discussion include low-income advocate Dan Hoxworth of Capstone Community Action and business owner Mark Curran of Black River Produce.
Rep. Copeland Hanzas recently introduced a bill (H.791) based the ESSEX Plan which aims to accelerate the transition to a clean, largely local, renewably powered future. This will be part of Wednesday's discussion. Mark Curran and Dan Hoxworth were co-authors of the original ESSEX Plan concept paper and can articulate how this plan can benefit business as well as low-income and working Vermonters.
This conversation next Wednesday is an excellent opportunity to get your questions answered, really understand the economic opportunities for everyone in climate action, and find strategic opportunities to engage to help move Vermont forward on climate this legislative session.
