--On Tuesday, Feb 20th, 2018 at 5pm - at Burlington City Hall, in Room 12 (street level) 149 Church Street-- Tuesday at 5pm is the last and final meeting for all Burlington citizens to voice our opinions about the City's final proposal (decision) to CUT DOWN 35 TREES in City Hall Park. You can help to save them.
The City of Burlington's Development Review Board (DRB) plans to move forward with destroying more than HALF of City Hall Park's trees as part of their redesign project.
Many of these trees are big beautiful shade trees. Our shaded green oasis in the center of our city is slated for drastic and unnecessary changes.
Please come to this final decision-making meeting to speak up for the trees and the integrity of our City Park.
Also, please do EMAIL your concerns and opinions to the members of Burlington's "Development Review Board" (DRB) using Layne Darfler's email address: ldarfler@burlingtonvt.gov .
They need to receive your email before 5:00 on Tuesday when the meeting begins.
For more information see f/b site: "Keep the Park Green @CityHallParkBurlingtonVT", and C.B.'s collection of detailed tree maps: http://carolynbatesphoto.com/city-hall-park-redesign-city-hall-park-redesign-burlington-vt.html.
Thank you for taking time to consider the immediate fate and future of your local city park.
